Vice Ganda Slams Jobert Sucaldito, Denies Paying for Best Actor Trophy

Speaking on It's Showtime Wednesday, Vice Ganda said that he's aware of the controversy hounding PMPC but just ignored it since he knew for himself that he didn't pay for the award (WATCH VIDEO HERE).

"Nung nabasa ko natawa lang ako, tapos tumahimik ako. Sabi ko ‘Kung kakausapin ko ang konsensya ko, ano kayang sasabihin ng konsensya ko sa akin?’ Sabi ng konsensya ko sa akin, ‘Kung nandaya ka, ibalik mo ang award. Kung hindi ka nandaya, yakapin mo ang award,’” Vice Ganda said before hugging his trophy.

On Tuesday, Philippine Movie Press Club, Inc. (PMPC), organizers of the Star Awards for Movies, already denied the said allegations (read PMPC's official statement here).

Vice Ganda has just returned from his highly successful “I-Vice Ganda Mo Ako sa Amerika” tour. The tour’s first show was held at the John Logan High School Pavilion last February 28 where Vice entertained the audience with special guests, heartthrob Ejay Falcon and comedy duo MC and Lassy.

The tour’s second show at the Los Angeles Theatre on March 1 also drew a huge turnout that Vice extended the show to three hours. The tour was presented by Happy Box, in cooperation with Redcheese Production, iOhmie Entertainment, and BG Productions.

The Philippine Movie Press Club, Inc. (PMPC) is saddened by the unfortunate turn of events at the recently-concluded 30th PMPC Star Awards for Movies.

Immediately after the awards ceremonies, a malicious allegation circulated in social media questioning the veracity of our Best Actor winner.

We strongly refute the said allegation. The voting members gave their utmost trust and confidence to the winners in their respective categories, thereby making the results final, uncontestable and sacred.

N
akakaloka ang PMPC Star Awards for Movies na ginanap kagabi sa Solaire. niloko ako ng ilang members ng PMPC - pinaniwala ako that they will vote for my baby Jeorge Estregan for Best Actor for his sterling performance sa pelikulang Boy Golden. ganito kasi ang scenario - barely two weeks ago, some members talked to me at nagtanong kung hindi ko raw ba ila-lobby si Jeorge Estregan for Best Actor dahil ang kanilang napusuang rightful winner na si Joel Torre for the movie On The Job won't get the votes dahil hindi nila kayang magbayad sa voting members, i thought of something. kung hindi rin lang mananalo si joel torre who is the rightful winner, might as well fight na lang for my anak-anakang jeorge estregan for Boy Golden dahil they said that he is next in line for Best Actor. but how? i have to call first members of PMPC para makasiguro ako sa pagkapanalo ng alaga ko dahil PR man ako. that's part of the lobbying. normal lang iyon - kahit sa Oscar's sa America ay uso ang lobbying, di ba? i have to siyempre weigh first kung may laban ako. since 38 lang naman ang voting members, i have to get at least a vote more than half of them - meaning, more than 19 in short. so i commissioned 22 of them bago ako sumugal. huwag na nating pangalanan but worse come to worst ay willing ako to name names. promise! wala akong pakialam dahil lokohan pala ito. nagulat na lang ako nang malaman ko that one voting PMPC member nilang si francis simeon lobbied for Vice Ganda pala for Best Actor.. Nagbayad siya ng pera sa mga kasamahan niya sa PMPC para manalo so Vice Ganda who is abroad. mamatay na ang nagsisisnungaling. alam niyo naman ako, mayabang din at kalahati. nangutang ako sa isang friend ng pera para huwag lang madehado ang alaga ko kaya nagbayad ako ng mas higher. kaso, ang 3 members ng executive branch nila sa PMPC named Mel Navarro, Roldan Catro and Fernan de Guzman are for Vice Ganda dahil mas nauna sila naka-commit doon. at ang malungkot, ayaw nilang ipakita ang tunay na resulta ng botohan nila - itinatago nila. kasi nga, if I had 22 committed members, ilan na lang ang natitira sa kanila? 16? in short, i already have the numbers. kaya lang, since ayaw nilang ipakita ang tunay na resulta ng votes, nanalo si Vice Ganda dahil kontrolado nila ang results. i am an outsider of PMPC kaya i have all the right to lobby - since hindi naman pala mananalo ang righrful winner na si JOEL TORRE, might as well to fight for second best and that's joerge estregan dahil sila naman ang nagsabi. pero ang nag-lobby kay Vice Ganda for Best Actor ay VOTING MEMBER ng PMPC na si FRANCIS SIMEON. hindi ba sila nahiya noon? Nasaan ang delicadeza nila? bawal iyon sa members to campaign for a nominee, di ba? either he must abstain from voting for his ward dahil pangit talagang tingnan. ako? okay lang iyon dahil outsider ako and every PR MAN has the right to campaign or lobby for a client for whatever reason. nakakaloka lang dahil papaano nangyaring natalo ako when many of them committed with me for Jeorge Estregan. i personally spoke to many of them and they said yes. yung ibang nakausap ko who said na hindi sila maka-commit sa akin dahil nauna na raw silang pinakiusapan ni FRANCIS SIMEON for Vice Ganda (may bayad din po ito like what I did na pinangutang ko pa ha!) were rommel placente, mildred bacud, sandy es mariano, timmy basil, roldan castro (co-chairman ng Star Awards), among others. okay lang naman ang lobbying pag hindi ka member and i don't care kung magalit sila sa akin - nanggagago sila kasi eh. puwes, magkabukohan na tayo. VICE GANDA's winning was PAID. at lalaban ako sa isyung ito. yung ibang nabigyan ko ay nag-hunyango sa akin and ok lang iyon. magkakaalaman din kami in due time. hindi alam ni jeorge estregan ito dahil ipinangutang ko siya- sobrang mahal ko lang ang batang iyan dahil napakabait at mahusay talagang aktor kaya lang nabiktima kami ng DAGDAG-BAWAS gang sa LOOB MISMO NG PMPC. i am willing to talk at any convenient time at paninindigan ko ito at any given time at your convenience. NGAYON, NASAAN NA ANG TUNAY NA KREDIBILIDAD NG PMPC?

Buzz ng Bayan Slaps Roxanne Cabanero with Evidences in Investigative Report (February 23)

Posted on February 23, 2014 | 6:33 PM

ABS-CBN's Buzz ng Bayan aired an investigative report on February 23 about Roxanne Cabañero y Acosta and the new rape case she filed against comedian Vhong Navarro. Buzz ng Bayan presented Roxanne's sworn affidavit vis-à-vis statements and evidences that will support or falsify Roxanne's claims.

Roxanne Cabanero

After presenting Roxanne Cabanero's background according to the people she has worked with in the past and her interview with Doris Bigornia of ABS-CBN News, Buzz ng Bayan dug deeper into the issue with its own investigation from where Vhong Navarro first met Roxanne Cabanero up to the whereabouts of the It's Showtime host at the time Roxanne claims she was raped.

In an interview with Astoria Plaza Hotel's project director Ric Valenzuela, it was revealed that Roxanne Cabanero nor the Slimmer's World Miss Bikini Philippines 2010 candidates were not checked in on the said hotel, contrary to what Roxanne said in her affidavit.

Pets were also not allowed in the said hotel according to Valenzuela, so there's a question on Roxanne's claim that her co-candidate, who was with a pet dog at the time, saw her coming out of Vhong's car after the rape incident.

Buzz ng Bayan host Boy Abunda also interviewed Gwen Villanueva, manager of Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park where Vice Ganda's April 24, 2010 concert was held. Villanueva confirmed that the concert started late and she said that she saw Vhong Navarro performed and stayed until the end of the show.

Boy Abunda also interviewed Vice Ganda who also recalled that the concert started around nine or half past nine of April 24, 2010 and ended around midnight. He also confirmed Vhong's participation in the concert just like what Villanueva said. Watch the said interview here.

The balanced reporting of Buzz ng Bayan was lauded by netizens, who were enlightened about this new rape case filed by Roxanne against Vhong. Some netizens also expressed their disgust on Roxanne Cabanero, who according to them was lying based on the evidences presented.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Roxanne Cabanero challenged Vhong to prove where he was on the night she was allegedly rape before she respond to new developments on the case.

Roxanne Cabanero on Vhong Navarro Guesting on Vice Ganda's Concert: 'Prove it to me'

Posted on February 22, 2014 | 2:49 PM

Aspiring beauty queen Roxanne Cabañero y Acosta challenged comedian Vhong Navarro to prove where he was on the night she was allegedly rape before she respond to new developments on the case.

There are reports that Vhong Navarro was a guest performer on Vice Ganda's concert held April 24, 2010 at the Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park in Cavite. The said concert titled "May Nag Txt, May Show Ako" happened the same date Roxanne Cabañero claimed she was raped by Vhong based on her sworn affidavit.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Roxanne said, "Prove it to me. I-prove niya muna kung nasaan siya noong araw na 'yon. At babalikan ko, sasagutin ko ang tinatanong niya."

On social media, netizens expressed their doubts about the alleged rape incident which happened in Pasig. They based their judgment on several evidences proving that Vhong was present in the said concert.

A press release from Island Cove’s website dated April 6, 2010 and a poster showed that the concert was scheduled to start at 8 p.m. A photo sent to ABS-CBN News by Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park on Friday has confirmed that the concert of Vice Ganda with Vhong Navarro as guest indeed took place on the specified date.

Meanwhile, Kean Cipriano, who was also a guest performer on the said concert, posted a tweet 2:20 am of April 25, 2010 confirming that the concert ended past midnight.

A YouTube video uploaded by user wharzeek also showed Vhong Navarro staying until the end of the show. There's also a YouTube video showing host Vhong Navarro in the April 24, 2010 episode of It's Showtime plugging the said Island Cove concert.

Vhong Navarro is yet to speak up about this new evidence. However, his lawyer Atty. Alma Mallonga confirmed that Vhong knows Roxanne but the comedian did not specify how they got acquainted. She also said that no rape happened.

Vhong Navarro in Vice Ganda's Concert the Night He Allegedly Raped Roxanne Cabanero?

Posted on February 21, 2014 | 5:10 PM

Comedian Vhong Navarro's alleged new rape victim Roxanne Cabañero y Acosta mentioned in her sworn affidavit that she was raped by the It's Showtime host on the night of April 24, 2010. She also said that she met Navarro on the ABS-CBN noontime show when they guested as contestants of Slimmer's World Miss Bikini Philippines the same day.

Vhong Navarro and Roxanne Cabanero

According to Roxanne, a staff got her number for Vhong and later in the afternoon, she received a text message from the comedian who suggested that they meet at her hotel room in Pasig. However, Roxanne refused so Vhong picked her up at the hotel around 10:30 to 11:30 pm of April 24.

The rape, according to Roxanne, happened inside Vhong's car which was parked under a shaded tree a few meters away from the hotel. She said she can't leave the car even if she wanted to because she was afraid of Vhong and his bodyguards/driver who were just waiting outside.

Meanwhile, there are reports that Vhong Navarro was a guest in Vice Ganda's concert the night of April 24 along with Calla Lily's Kean Cipriano and the Streetboys. The said concert allegedly happened at the Island Cove in Cavite. Posters and press releases from the organizers said that the concert starts at 8 pm.

A video which was uploaded on YouTube showed that Vhong Navarro was indeed in the concert scene, which according to some ended at past midnight, basing on Kean Cipriano's tweet posted 2:20 am of April 25 which reads, "just got home from island cove. congrats VICE GANDA and Vhong. you guys are the best!"

Many netizens dismissed the possibility of the rape since Vhong was seen at the concert the night (and perhaps the time) Roxanne said she was raped and it was impossible that he flew from Cavite to Pasig just to do the act. They compared it with the alleged 'one-minute rape' of Deniece Cornejo.

Vhong Navarro and his camp are yet to confirm whether the comedian really had a guesting in a concert held April 24, 2010. Kean Cipriano and Vice Ganda are also yet to released statements about this latest evidence.

Why Vice Ganda and Karylle Fall Apart: Vice Ganda Shares Reasons of Rift with Singer

Posted on February 20, 2014 | 10:20 AM

Comedian Vice Ganda admitted that he and It's Showtime co-host Karylle have an ongoing rift. According to Vice Ganda, the gap between him and Karylle started when the singer failed to attend his victory party for Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy

Vice Ganda admits rift with Karylle

Vice Ganda said that he was hurt by Karylle's reasons for not attending the party.

"Ang una niyang sinabing dahilan, 'Hindi naman ako invited.' Tapos sabi niya, 'Wala akong driver.' Iyon ang sumunod niyang dahilan. 'Wala akong ride.' Tapos nung sumunod na dahilan niya, 'Tinatamad kasi ako, e.' Iyon 'yung nasa chat. So ako, na-offend ako, bilang malapit na kaibigan niya," Vice said in an interview Wednesday (watch the video here).

"Sabi ko, 'Kung hindi ko 'to mahal si K, hindi ako ma-o-offend at all.' Kasi hindi naman lahat nakapunta, e. Pero dahil sobrang mahal ko 'to at malapit sa akin, nagtampo ako nang kaunti," he added.

The two, according to Vice Ganda, were in speaking terms when the Vhong Navarro mauling incident came. However, a comment from Karylle's boyfriend Yael Yuzon hurt his feelings further.

"Parang nahi-hurt siya at 'di niya matanggap na sa dinadami na pwedeng i-pair up sa girlfriend niya, bakit bakla pa? Tapos sobra na siyang pissed off na anytime sasabog na at susugod na siya sa studio," Vice narrated.

Vice said that he was offended by that remark and decided not to speak with Karylle nor interact with her in live shows. He also said that his pairing with Karylle is more of help to the latter, so he was saddened by what he heard.

"Kung gano'n pala, sige, iiwas ako, hindi ako titingin sa kanya dahil baka bugbugin pa ako ng dyowa niya. Baka sumugod pa dito. Para wala nang isyu, iiwas nalang ako," he said.

According to Vice Ganda, Karylle has since apologized to him and the singer even sent flowers.

"Actually pinadalhan niya ako ng flowers kanina. Aminado naman siya, e. Nagpadala na siya ng flowers, nagpadala na siya ng sulat, nag-text siya sa akin. Sabi ko, 'Okay na, pero huwag natin pilitan na mag-swet-sweetan tayo, maglandian tayo. Let's just all be real, huwag tayo mameke ng tao.'"

When sked if he will attend Karylle's wedding on March, Vice said:

"Hindi ko alam kung pupunta ako, kasi unang-una, hindi ko alam kung kailan 'yung kasal. At pangalawa, depende siguro. Kung hindi po ako masyadong okay sa emosyon ko, ayokong makipag-plastikan doon. Pero I wish them well."

Vice Ganda and Karylle rumored rift: What is the reason there's a gap between ViceRylle?

The speculations started during Karylle's wedding announcement on the noontime show last February 8. Karylle's male co-hosts were all present to serenade and wish her the best except for Vice Ganda, who came late (watch the video here).

Vice Ganda, however, wished Karylle well in her upcoming wedding in an interview with ABS-CBN News following Karylle's announcement. The interview was also aired in TV Patrol and somehow invalidates the talks about a rift between the two.

"Good luck sa kanyang napipintong pagpapakasal at pag-aasawa. Sana magsama sila habambuhay at maging happy forever. Mukha naman silang masaya, masayang masaya naman sila," Vice said then.

The following days though, netizens already felt the coldness of Vice Ganda to Karylle. In the 'Stars on 45' segment where Karylle is one of the judges, Vice seemed to not care when it is Karylle's turn to give comments.

The comedian also keeps on snubbing the singer during the I Am PoGay Q&A portion and is not asking Karylle on what's her take on the hidden object. Vice Ganda can also be seen distancing from Karylle during live shows, and standing closer next to Billy or Anne.

According to some sources, the It's Showtime hosts and staff are well aware of the ongoing rift between Vice and Karylle. About the real cause of the rumored rift, many also speculate.

Some reports said that the gap between ViceRylle started when Karylle failed to make it to a victory party that Vice Ganda organized for the success of one of his projects while there are some who said that Karylle gave a negative remark to Vice which further hurt the gay comedian's feelings.

On Wednesday night, Vice Ganda has spoken up on the issue and admitted that he and Karylle are not in good terms (watch video).
