The X Factor USA Season 2 Grand Winner: Tate Stevens

Tate Stevens, who was mentored by L.A. Reid (Over 25s category) bested two other acts in the finale—Carly Rose Sonenclar under Britney Spears' Teens category and Fifth Harmony under the wings of Simon Cowell (Groups category).

The X Factor USA Top 3 each sang three songs last night: their favorite performance (billed as "song of the season," a duet with celebrities (LeAnn Rimes to Carly, Little Big Town to Tate and Demi Lovato to Fifth Harmony), and the winner's song which was billed as the "$5 million song."

In the live finale results night, American rapper Pitbull and the world's most popular boy band today, One Direction from The X Factor UK entertained fans with their respective singles, Don't Stop The Party and Kiss You.

Tate Steven has always been a favorite and on top of the results board week by week. On last night's finale performance show, Tate impressed once again with his version of Chris Young's Tomorrow. He also performed Randy Houser's Anything Goes and did an amazing duet with Little Big Town in Pontoon.

As The X Factor USA Season 2 grand winner, Tate took home a $5 million recording contract with Sony Music and a chance to do a Pepsi-sponsored music video that will premiere during the 2013 Grammy Awards.

Posted on December 14, 2012 | 9:58 AM

The X Factor USA 2012 Top 4 Results Show: Top 3 Acts Enter Finale, Emblem 3 Eliminated!

The Top 3 was determined by America's votes and the judges—Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid—had no power to send someone home so it's how America wanted the finale to be. They are Fifth Harmony (Simon Cowell's Groups), Tate Stevens (L.A. Reid's Over 25s) and Carly Rose Sonenclar (Britney Spears' Teens)

The X Factor USA Season 2 Top 3 Revealed

Before Emblem 3 bade goodbye, Bruno Mars got to perform his latest single Locked Out of Heaven from his newly-released album "Unorthodox Jukebox."

Last night, The X Factor USA Season 2 Top 4 Carly Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens, Fifth Harmony and Emblem 3 all took on two songs—one they have chosen for themselves and the other one chosen by their mentors. Emblem 3 performed Baby, I Love Your Way by Peter Frampton and Hey Jude by The Beatles (as chosen by Simon) and though their song selections fitted their style, it's not enough to impress America that much.

So, it's Carly versus Tate versus Fifth Harmony in The X Factor US Season 2 Finale.

The two-night grand finale of The X Factor USA 2012 will happen on December 19 and 20 airing at around 8-10 PM on Fox. The star-studded event will feature special performances, surprise guests and more before  the revelation of The X Factor US grand winner who will take home a $5 million contract.

'The X Factor USA' Season 2 Premieres this September 13 on Studio 23

Posted on September 12, 2012 | 10:46 PM

Studio 23 premieres the highly anticipated second season of hitUSsinging competition “The X FactorUSA” via satellite this Thursday (Sept 13) at 7PM.

Season one judge-mentors Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid are back and now joined by teen sensation Demi Lovato and pop icon Britney Spears as new judges to search for an out-of-this-world 12 years old or over talent – both solo artists and vocal groups – who are bold enough to face the superstar judges and the Fifth Judge, the audience of thousands, who they have to win over during the audition.

Aside from the singing acts that may wow the crowd with their vocal ability, charisma and stage presence, fans are excited to see how Demi and Britney will get along and react with their co-judges especially with the ever-unapologetic Simon.

“So far everything has been so much fun for all of us. Everything is like a ew experience for me. It’s a lot of fun and the talentsare amazing,” shared Britney.

Simon earlier commended the girls, in an interview with People.com, for doing a great job. He even quipped that Britney, after taping a few episodes, turned out to be quite mean and very difficult to please. Demi, on the other hand, he said was quite annoying. “I thought she was very confident, very bright, then became quite annoying, but knew what she was talking about,” explained Simon.

When it comes to their judging, Britney described her style as “subtle” and that she will try to use constructive criticisms, while Demi simply put it as “happy” and “really honest”

Simon also revealed that more of the mentoring process can also be expected this season. “A lot of what we did was off-camera. I think the mentoring process, how we actually work with the artists, how they interact with each other, where they’re staying, is an important part of this show.  I think all that process has to be shown.”

Last season, Melanie Amaro was crowned winner and Simon, who mentored Melanie and the rest of the Girls came out on top. But will one of the other judges dethrone him this year? Who among the contestants are worthy of the $5 million recording contract with Syco/Sony Music?

But before the whole world meets the second “The X FactorUSA” winner, Filipinos will first meet the first grand winner of “The X FactorPhilippines,” hosted by KC Concepcion and airs weekends on ABS-CBN. The finale is getting nearer as only six finalists compete for the title.

Don’t miss the two-part via satellite premiere of “The X FactorUSA2” this Thursday (Sep 13) and Friday (Sep 14), 7 PM on Studio 23. Catch the show in the succeeding weeks every Thursday and Friday, at 7 PM, with a same day encore run at 10:30 PM.

Chris Cayzer Makes it to Round 3 of The X Factor Australia, an Early Favorite of Fans

Posted on September 5, 2012 | 1:07 PM

Chris Cayzer Makes it to the Round 3 of The X Factor Australia, an early favorite of fansFormer Kapamilya talent Chris Cayzer went past through the group round of The X Factor Australia during the Super Boot Camp round of the said reality-talent search which aired on Tuesday night.

Last week, the audition video of Chris Cayzer aired and went viral. He sang Vanessa Carlton's A Thousand Miles on audition and got the yeses of three out of the four judges while gaining a standing ovation from judge Mel B of Spice Girls and some members of the live audience.

Chris Cayzer might be lucky enough to make it through since the group where he belonged got relatively bad reviews from the judges with their performance of  New Radical's You Get What You Give. Mel B said that the performance was uncomfortable to watch while Ronan Keating found their rendition a disgrace.

Judge Guy Sebastian, who was the only one who didn't vote for Chris Cayzer during the auditions, was still unimpressed by the Filipino-Australian. He singled-out Chris and said that he doesn't have the X factor.

"I didn't get Chris. There's a certain ceiling and Chris can't get past it. He doesn't have the X factor," the first Australian Idol winner commented.

Despite being lambasted by the judges, Chris remained an early favorite in The X Factor Australia. One proof  is a video posted on YouTube with him performing his audition piece to promote the show in a mall flocked by Australian fans.

Posted on August 28, 2012 | 6:14 PM

Former Kapamilya singer-actor Chris Cayzer auditioned in the Australian version of The X Factor where he received a standing ovation from judge Melanie Brown (a.k.a. Scary Spice of the Spice Girls) and some members of the audience.

Chris Cayzer's The X Factor Australia audition aired Monday night and he just wowed the crowd with an alternative version of Vanessa Carlton's A Thousand Miles.

Melanie Brown said that she's found "something extra special" with Chris Cayzer that  she haven’t seen in a long time, adding that Chris could win the whole thing if he's serious with the job.

Boyzone's Ronan Keating also praised the 25-year-old singer while Aussie singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte said that she's happy Chris came back to Australia. Chris Cayzer stayed for 6 years in the Philippines rounding in the country's biggest TV networks. He became part of ABS-CBN's ASAP and GMA-7's SOP before appearing in TV-5's P.O.5.

If the three judges loved Chris' performance and had given him their yeses, first Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian thought otherwise, saying that Chris "would have to grow a lot" for superstardom and gave his "No."

With three yeses and one no, Chris Cayzer made it to the Bootcamp, the show's next round. Watch Chris Cayzer's audition video in The X Factor Australia below:
