Bromance Gross P72.67-M in 3 Weeks - Box Office Mojo | Beats Coco-Julia and KathNiel Movies

Skylight Films' Bromance: My Brother's Romance proved to be a box office success with P72.67 million gross in three weeks according to Box Office Mojo (BOM). Starring Zanjoe Marudo, Bromance is now the most successful maindie film.

The movie grossed P32.33-M and P52.84-M on its first and second week, respectively and is consistent in being one of the top 5 movies in the country since its premiere last May 15.

Bromance even surpassed the box office gross of mainstream films A Moment In Time starring Coco Martin and Julia Montes and Must Be...Love featuring the love team of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

'Bromance' Gross Now P50-M; Highest-Grossing Movie of Skylight Films

Bromance: My Brother's Romance starring Zanjoe Marudo has grossed P50 million pesos entering into its second weekend according to Star Cinema. The movie, which also stars Cristine Reyes opened in theaters on May 15.

Directed by Wenn V. Deramas and produced by Skylight Films, the movie zoomed to the top of the box office in its first week and continues to make millions with each passing day. This marks the movie by far as the highest grossing film of Skylight Films, beating Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang.

Bromance's box office success was another proof of Direk Wenn Deramas' magic touch. However, Zanjoe Marudo's portrayal as the completely opposite twins Brando and Brandy also earned the praise.

Direk Wenn brought a different flavor to Bromance: My Brother’s Romance from his previous cinema movies—Praybeyt Benjamin, Sisterakas and This Guy’s In Love With You, Mare, all of which broke records at the box office.

“The casting is excellent. Zanjoe Marudo is a revelation, as he essayed both his roles with great versatility. Bromance: My Brother’s Romance is a good vehicle for him to display his range. This is his best movie—his performance is commendable and effortless—and it’s the perfect launching movie for him,” said a review by the Cinema Evaluation Board.

Bromance: My Brother’s Romance also boasts of a hilarious yet no less stellar supporting cast composed of Cristine Reyes (who plays Zanjoe’s love interest Erika) Arlene Muhlach, Joy Viado, Manuel Chua, Boom Labrusca, Joey Paras, Lassy, Nikki Valdez, Maricar De Mesa, Abbie Bautista, Carlo Romero and Jeff Luna.

The movie is still showing in cinemas nationwide.

Bromance: My Brother's Romance Starring Zanjoe Marudo (Teaser)

Star Cinema released a teaser for the upcoming movie Bromance: My Brother's Romance starring Zanjoe Marudo. In the said comedy movie, Zanjoe will play a dual role.

The teaser features Zanjoe Marudo playing with the two characters that he will be playing–a straight hunk and a flambouyant gay. This is not the first time that the hunk will play a gay role in a movie. Last year, Zanjoe starred as a gay man in 24/7 in Love opposite real-life girlfriend Bea Alonzo.

Zanjoe will be joined by sexy actress Cristine Reyes in Bromance which is helmed by box office director Wenn Deramas. Produced by Skylight Films and distributed by Star Cinema, Bromance is set to hit Philippine theaters this May 2013.
